While you were sleeping,
I studied your face.
So strong, yet so gentle,
A loving embrace.
And when you awoke,
And you opened your eyes,
I felt like a WINNER,
and YOU were my PRIZE.
Not silver.
Not plated.
But, pure shining GOLD.
Like sun in my pocket,
A TREASURE to hold.
I carry it with me,
A scene in my head,
A dream of Obama,
Asleep in my bed.
