"Obama Bobama – First One Hundred Days Panorama"
Obama's first one hundred days were a whir of choice and action. His candidacy was high-risk, but now we're feeling fractions of the fear that crushed our lungs for years – the burning Bush has spoken, and the hope of rising from its ashes now is free from tears. My auntie nears retirement, and her emphysema worsens; but my family isn't worried about health insurance, or the stock market's roller-coaster jerkins. All Americans have equal access to medical care and education. Instead of workin double jobs to earn our daily bread, we shun golden handcuffs and unfair games, and tread the lighter paths of leisure time, real food, and love. Instead of dead wages, ours are living; and the sages of independent media are flushing with the heat and strength of having won at last a regular beat. It's like our country was on loan, and now we have it back – just like the troops who've finally (kicking and triumphant) come on home.
"Too much!" the doubters sneer and snort. "It never can be done."
"Go fish!" the pundits leer and cavort. "You're only having fun."
Whoever said politics had to be about compromise and reason? What God decreed that, without flood, there can be no new season?
This one is ours, and yes we can – a message of hope across the land.
