Detroit Dismantled- Shipped To Chicago Print E-mail

What was left of the city of Detroit was dismantled this week and shipped to Illinois. The Motor City, long beset by declines in the automotive industry and general economy, has given up the ghost as a separate city entity and will be rebuilt as a new suburb of Chicago called 'Floyd'. The once proud Midwestern City that saw its heyday as the center of American automotive might has long languished from the onslaught of foreign cars that are smaller, more compact and reasonably priced, much like the foreigners themselves.
The whole endeavor is a slap in the face to the remaining Detroitonians. It is bad enough to see your city descend into poverty, then dismantled, but to have it rebuilt as a neighborhood of your major competitor and rival Chicago is a humiliation beyond endurance. The city of Chicago has announced that the new addition to its mass (some call it being 'super-sized') will be used to house their undesirables, as new prison space and as a landfill. Detroitonians are fuming.
